Yes it will, providing that you also meet the other requirements of the program. See below for full answer to your question.

Here's What You Need to Use Windows XP Home Edition

• PC with 300 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233-MHz minimum required;* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended

• 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)

• 1.5 gigabyte (GB) of available hard disk space.*

• Super VGA (800 × 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor

• CD-ROM or DVD drive

• Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

Window XP documentation claims that your system meets the minimum requirements, however, in my professional opinion (yes this is my profession) you shouldn't even think about XP without a faster processor and at least 500MB of RAM. Candidly I would recommend at least 1 GB of RAM. It sounds as if your machine is getting a little long in the tooth. It may be time to buy a new system. There are some fine inexpensive desktop systems available these days.

If you're gonna run XP then you will need more RAM than 128 for sure. 256 will work but you would be better off with at least 512 RAM to accommodate new software, etc.

And you're just now getting to XP with Vista coming out tomorrow... been out of touch for a while, have we?

I'd get a new computer with Vista installed on it and not even worry about XP anymore. I've had Vista installed on my desktop and laptop for six days now (I managed to snag Vista early) and I never want to see XP again, EVER.

But, to answer your question, XP will be dirt slow on that computer, at the very least get 512MB of memory. That computer as it is won't even run iTunes... just... just get a new one with Vista installed on it, that's my recommendation.

If you do you will surly have the slowest computer on earth and a ridiculously laughable compatibilty issue with any new software. It will take your computer so long to turn on that you will have time to run to the library use their computer stop at dunkin Donuts walk by the computer store and drool at all their new computers and return home to see that Windows has just started loading your icons. Internet explorer 7 and media player 11 will crash worst than the stock market and your programs will take FOREVER TO Load. if they do at all.
