Jesus is a historical figure mentioned not only in the works of the Jewish historian Josephus but also in Roman records. The Greek gods were made up by a poet. The Egyptian gods were just representations of natural forces such as the sun, moon, the Nile. Now whether or not you believe what the Bible or other religious documents say about the life of Jesus is your own business and something that each person has to figure out themselves. But no serious historians doubt the existence of a man named Jesus who lived in the first century AD, or accept the existence of Greek and Egyptian gods as real beings.

It is my contention that every civilization has a God or Gods. Religion helps explain the events that humans do not understand and is a mechanism to define appropriate social behaviors. Most humans want to believe in some type of after life. I am not an atheist only a skeptic who tries to examine every action carefully.
The Greek gods were very real to the Greeks. If one considers that it is quite remarkable to be here in the first place, many other assumptions are not as far fetched as they would seem.
What one person thinks is perfectly normal, such as a religious view, is completely impossible to another.

It is a reasonable assumption that Jesus existed, as there is at least one trustworthy contemporary source (Josephus). It shows signs of monastic tampering, as do most early accounts, but that can be stripped away by linguists. There is, however, no valid indication that he was considered divine during his lifetime.

On those same terms, it is quite possible that certain human feats were incorporated into the opera of Greek or Egyptian gods, but their basis is more likely either tribal or animistic or both.

Depends on your view point.
There is according to some religions only one true God which would mean any other gods or goddesses are not in fact worthy of the title god and therefore deemed paganistic.
However, all modern religious belief is based around the faith of a greater being who presides over ourselves. In egyptian and greek mythology the gods although supreme had faults the same as people and would and did interact with us.
It all boils down to which religion you follow.

Yes, of course. Jesus was not God. He was a person dedicated to people and getting them to be a bit more decent. Not many people get their birthday celebrated 2000 years later.

You should read Mircea Eliade's HISTORY OF RELIGIOUS IDEAS and you will find out that virtually all of the religions going back to the first one are syncretistic in nature, absorbing their concepts from prior cultures.
