Only if you are entering the Gambia from an area where yellow fever is found. If you're flying straight there and back from the UK, you won't need the jab.
For fuller info, go to http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/ -- click on 'Africa', then 'Gambia'.
On the Gambia page there's a link for yellow fever-affected countries (much of Africa), so if you'll be arriving from another African country, check the list.
Sorry I can't give you direct links -- the Fit for Travel website doesn't seem to allow them.
Have a great trip :)

YES, you will need yellow fever jab to enter the Gambia. They have Yellow fever there! It is better to have it done before you travel otherwise, the health customs can demand that you have it done on site before leaving the airport. and you do not want to get your jab done in the Gambia. So take your precautions, visit your local doctor, get your jab for yellow fever, hepatitis B, plus malaria treatment.

These websites should be able to assist. MASTA is more likely to be updated more regularly with detailed info but charge a small free. The NHS is free but only provides a summary and may not be updated as frequently.
