Get credit cards but use them sparingly and pay them off on time.

The key here is to have others extend you credit, not take advantage of the entire limit and pay off your bills on time
Another way is to be on another person's credit card as a
co-signer

Open a small Visa or MasterCard with a limit on it. Pay the balance off each month and you will have excellent credit in no time. After you are established, check the interest rates and switch your account to one with a better rate. Good luck and don't go crazy with credit. It is the best way that I know of to get into trouble.

start off small. go to a jewelry store and purchase something inexpensive on credit. pay for it over 6 months (if you pay it off early it may not show up on your report and build up your credit.). makes those 6 payments on time

dont get STORE CREDIT CARDS they have too high a intrest rate
try capitol one with a small balance like 200.00
if you get aproved for higher call them to lower it
just use it for gas or small purcheses then pay over the min every month
you can also try to get a loan for 500.00 and let it sit in the bank gain intrest and then make your payments

I once took out a loan for $1000.00 and paid it back straight away with the $1000.00 I had in my bank account. 2 wks later, I went back in and was instantly approved for a $5000.00 loan! It really depends on your bank and their rules...
