Yes- the absolute answer follows...My heart really went out to you when I saw your question. You seem to be at a point where you need to let God in. Just hear me out please... Do read my answer, to one of the yahoo questions titled: 'How did God made hes son?' See it in my profile of answered questions. This will tell you why you are living on this earth. I am 100% serious'. So many people today call this thing a myth, not real, foolish- I will tell you from my own personal experience... as I have been where you are in your current thought... God is very real and there is not a single thing more real or more important in your entire life on this earth. If you give Him a little bit of a chance I promise you that your life will change... actually He made the promise. And for the better times a million. After you read the mentioned answer, if you like look also at my best answers on 'Does God Exist' and 'What is God'- God says He makes all things to be a new creation... He does some how supernaturally have the capacity to give us this as well as a beautiful heart and soul and mind filled with joy and purpose. Just please... take the few minutes of time to look the answer up... you have not a thing to lose. Look the first mentioned ? first at the top of this answer. Just do it. You will thank yourself.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSE: I hope you are doing ok. I have thought a bit further and feel that you may enjoy developing a new hobby... 'make' yourself get interested in something other than your same old routine. Hiking, geo-cacheing(sp?), developing an interest in reading... and if you think you may like to read-tell answers your interest and get arecommendation for a good book- Military-'Rogue Warrior' for example. Swap meets collecting and reselling on ebay.

A very good bok for you to read is one titled 'The Phantom Tollbooth'- LOL, this is an older childrens book but it is very much about the situation you describe. It is an entertaining easy read published for children but in all honesty, written for adults.
Sports- hit a bucket of balls, find someone to play cards with... oh it may sound mundane but the residual benefits will treat you kindly. I wish you the best... and remember the only one that can pick you up and move you forward into a happier mindset is you.
Thank you for your time.

You're doing well, no worries! Doubting and questioning such things is reasoning, or striving to become more aware.. you can find great joy in looking at the stars, or learning science, even doing pottery... As a buddhist, we use the 6 perfections, with the motivation of selflessness to have them benefit the beings around us. This brings meaning to life, and the selfless practices helps lose any self problems that cause our suffering..

When it comes down to it, 2 fundamental questions in our existence, what is happiness, and how do we get it..?

For you to find out why you're here, it depends on what method and actions you will use to determine a purpose on this earth.. Last of all, learn and experience what exactly is trying to find meaning on this earth... Do look up the 6 perfections though, they're the basis of pretty much what we do daily anyway.. Hope this helps, Cheers!

That all means you're heading on the right path. When things don't work out, that means you WERE on the wrong path. So by making constant corrections you will gradually find the path you are meant to follow. The thing to do is to learn from the 'failures'. What went wrong? Did anything go right? By analyzing you'll gradually see a pattern and then you'll be able to see what to do. Don't hesitate to ask for help and direction from wise family and/or friends and especially from a benevolent Higher Power.

Good luck. You're living on this earth because your mission on earth is not complete.

You are here because you chose to be. Look at the areas where consistent failure is happening to you and try to break it down into its basic form. For example: If one is constantly getting into relationships with overbearing people perhaps they are here to learn to stand up for themselves and their rights? Take your focus off the failure, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you constantly believe failure is coming, it will surely be your life partner in whatever you do. It is what you invite into your life, and it accepts the invitation.
I hate to sound Pollyanna, but perhaps some motivational reading will help in your perspective. A couple of my favorite authors on the subject include:
Napoleon Hill
Wayne Dyer
The readings of Edgar Cayce on Attitudes and Emotions.(Many people discount the value of Cayce because he was a psychic. I found the writings to be very insightful and thought provoking.)
There are many others. Use their wisdom to guide you out of the mindset you are now in. I know it is difficult, but it is far from impossible to improve your attitude. And when an attitude changes, so does the life being led.
Best wishes to you.

Some of us seem doomed to plod thru life never knowing our purpose. We can be the unwitting tools of God that may say or do the one thing that will pass God's message on to someone at a crossroads, putting them on their proper path. You've seen James Stewart in 'It's A Wonderful Life' near Xmas. He had no idea of the impact he had on so many lives when he wished he were never born.
Most of us don't get to know our destiny from the start, and those who think they know, like our President Bush, are likely in for rude awakenings.

It`s a question of focus. The worse it gets, the worse it gets. Change yr focus. Find something, anything, that makes you feel good. Start with something small and stay with it as long as possible without distraction. Anything at all. Use your imagination to think of how you would like it to be. Writing it down is a good way. The journey of a thousand miles starts with one small step. When you get to be as happy as I am, help spread the word to others.

You live because someone loves you. You tried, you failed , you learned. If you look you can find success where thus far you have only seen failure. If you look at the sky as the sun sets you will see something interesting. You live, you breath and the world is full of possibilities. Hang on tommorrow will be better.

Often, we're just chasing 'rainbows'.
Ideals that are put infront of you by your peers.
Just accept that if you are 'honest', 'trustworthy', 'loyal' and a hard worker, that life WILL reward you beyond your wildest dreams.
You may not realise it's happening, but it will.

Religion?? That's for your own conscience, but it has no
bearing on your personal integrity or happiness in the future.

Just allow yourself to WANT something badly, but behave at
all times with integrity, and it will arrive.

Good luck to you, and you can 'chase the rainbow' below
if you like.

Pete.

don't push it lol. I mean we all get to that state of mind sometimes when we feel useless, life meaningless, no motivations and inspiration to walk life with. But there will come a time, in due time that you will find meaning to your life. If I were you, I wouldn't try to find meaning to my life. It is very depressing to think about meaningless life, and failures. Start from where you left off, keep moving on every day think about the beauty of nature and Who is responsible organizing it to a certain pattern that ecosystem is so inexplainably balanced. keep working hard!!!=)
I will pray for you:)
