I recently joined Myspace for a bit of fun. I of course realise that adding celebrities to your friends list in no way implies that they are actually going to become a 'real' friend, and I have no intention of this. I feel I'm a pretty well adjusted married twenty something with a young daughter and not some sort of obsessed stalker. If you are going to be a celebrity on a public domain, where the whole point is to network, then you have to play ball too. Why is it then that say, Alan Hansen the ex footballer, can link me as a friend, yet Rachel Stevens the British pop star (who has hundreds of friends, many of whom are just myspace fans), feels that she can just openly reject me. Don't get me wrong, I'll get over it, but why snub a potential fan for no apparent reason. The only basis upon which I linked with her in the first place is because my young daughter is a fan. How do I explain to her that her heroine can't be bothered. It just comes across as arrogant and dismissive.

The problem with a site like myspace is that it does breed a large amount of hackers stalkers and generally nasty people, and as a celebrity all she is doing is trying to avoid that. - Saying that she may not have even denied your friend request as she could have deleated it by mistake- it is very easy to knock a lot of them off in one go - i know ive done it!- Also i do know that you will get alot more rejections if you have no picture or a picture that is rude in any way. Personally i would put in another request and see what happens. I have had several celebrity's turn down my request - made purely because i admire there work but I'm not gonna get upset over it.

There are many reasons to reject people - just worry when they block you! Now that's when you know they really don't like you.

I got a rejection from Scott Mills (Radio1) I presumed it was because he had too many and didnt want anymore. Bradley Macintosh (aka City Boy on MySpace) former SClub and Rachels bandmate accepted me so its not all bad :)

it may not even be her,, it could be her ''my space" but someone other than her might do all the writing and linking... don't feel too bad and tell your daughter nothing to her about not being accepted.ITS amazing that with money you can hire people to do anything including picking your contacts on MY SPACE

there is no guarantee that it is Rachael Stephens.
I got an email address for Johnny Depp and it wasn't him. surprise surprise. It's just some one who is too insecure in themselves to show who they really are

all celebs think that if they social with non ceebs, they'll go down as a celeb. so they like to think that they can only be mates with other celebs.

they must think that they are in a different world to us hard working people

I can only suggest that maybe she is too far up her own backside to see what she was doing!?!

Maybe she was meant to press accept but her vision was blurred!?!
