The chemical formula for carbon monoxide is CO. it is a poisonous gas which has high effinity for haemoglobin. In our blood, it combines with haemoglobin to form carboxyhaemoglobin and prevents the formation of oxyhaemoglobin. Hence leading to death because of suffocation.
