please none of these actors and actresses represent India for what it is.she made a big hue and cry about things and she got what she wanted.but as far her representing the nation is concerned its all about the money and nothing else.to them words are merely duologue's that they by heart and for them neither action nor words speak louder than the other.all they are fit for is to make a few men go gaga and drool all over them and then in the end of the day call themselves conservative Indians.they are no different from the strippers or whores.

I was quite surprised at the clothes shilpa was wearing, her swearing and her flirting with Dirk. I never though Indian women were like that, the ones i have met certainly weren't. That said i love shilpa i think she had more class and intelligence than all of the other women put together. I guess the life that she lives is very different to that of most Indian women perhaps that's why she is so different

No Shilpa Shetty represents privilege and wealth. However cinema and Bollywood stars are the heros in India so she represents it as much as anyone else.

Culture is not about clothing, it is something deep down, and I think shilpa has it. Her culture is deep rooted and visible to one and all. Heard her words when she won the big brother competition. She said 'forgive and forget', such words can be spoken only by a person with deep rooted culture. She may be aping the west, by wearing revealing clothing, but she is an actor, and aping the west is only a play, and she has maintained that reality in her actions, which is superior to her external appearances.

I don't think so. She said she has an entourage to get her ready each day and she's never made her bed. I know that not many poeple in India have such privelages.
She represents the Bollywood culture well though...
