It depends on the size of the engine, and how fast you are driving.

If you have to ask this question you are one of those people who can only afford some little engined car say a four cylinder and you could expect up to 15 kilometers per litre.

Depends on your car. My little car takes 10 cents per km while our ute takes more than double of that. The average would probably be 20 cents a km. Not sure about prices in Perth, they're likely to be a bit more expensive than in the eastern states of Australia.

Assuming your average car does about 35mpg and that 90p is an average price per litre for fuel, then you would get 12 kilometers for 90p of course, it all depends on your engine, what type of fuel you use, driving conditions etc etc etc. That's worked out on an imperial gallon, not a US gallon.

Taking an average car as a Ford Focus 1.6, that gives about 14 kilometres combined.

Define average car - saloon, mini hatchback, MPV, 4x4? They can all vary wildly. Best is to check out a car comparison website if you are worried about your fuel consumption.
