Sales and Gas. Those are the 2 factors I look at for saving money when shopping. Where I live we have about 8 different grocery stores, not to mention Costco & Walmart. I try to plan out my Saturday with everything in mind that I need to do, keeping in mind which area I need to go to. If I need to go somewhere through the week and it is by another place with different sales then I will go there, if not I make do at the other places. I think the cost of gas these days must make you think about the true cost of your trip out. So in answering your question I think once would be cheaper.

Definitely shopping once a week! If you watch the sales and clip coupons you can easily save 50% or more off your shopping bill. Each week I get items for free or nearly free by using coupons on items that are already on sale. Find out if any of your local groceries double or triple manufacturers coupons.
Best of luck!

I think multiple shops different stores have different prices for the same product(s). If you take your time shopping for anything you'll probably end up saving a few dollars.

Do your homework before you go. Know what the sales are at the different stores by checking the mailers that come every week. Organize your time and plan your trip so you minimize your driving. Know what you usually eat and keep track of those items prices. That way when you see they really are on sale by more of them. Sometimes it isn't worth going to different stores and sometimes it is. You really need to watch the prices

One time and in bulk makes your overall cheaper. However I have 2 children that as soon as I bring it in they tend to eat , not because they are hungry but because they like it.
I dont like to see them overeat in this fashion so i shop daily to every 2 days depending on how busy I am.
