do u think that how news are represnted (media) is one of the reasons why West (America for example) and East (Middle east is what i mean) are fighting .. each one thinks the the other side is the criminal ..?

i think ordinary individuals only get thier knowledge about war and stuff from papers and TV , which by thier turn are ALWAYS on thier region's side , representing the other side badly. & NOT SHOWING the whole TRUTH..

Do u think that we will see the day that national press becomes 100% honest and dare to confess about its regions mistakes?

I have to disagree with you and most of the responses.
Let's not be a stereotype ! The main reason East has been fighting with US. is that, they've been imposed upon for decades now, either for OIL or more POWER or simply just making some kind of profit to stay supper power. It's just unbelievable that, no one care to mention this !!! PLEASE, refer to history before rubbing your horns on me!!!!!
And the press say not enough, if not much in disregard !

I do know the media is very biased! There was a time when American media (at least) tried to let the public know what was really happening. This is now the information age and people need to see what is going on in OUR world close up,in color & I mean all of it! It should be put on every station at a certain time every day.It should show the horrors of war-the dead, the dieing, the wounded, the starving, the tortured....Every sigle frame of mans inhumanity to man! Maybe then people might think twice about what the dollar value of a human really is. When was the last time anyone in the US saw a syrian sharp shooter take out a 19 year old marine who was standing in line to buy a drink? (YES THEY FILMED IT Not only that, they use it to recrute more young men to kill more of our young men). But our steralised wanna be media now consists of people like you see on ,The Morning Show & Good Morning America.OMG they are talking about what a football player would serve for a superbowl party!!! The damn weather report gets more coverage than the fact that people--> innocent people are being killed on scale thats not been seen since Hitlers failed atempt at world domination.(very few know how close he came ).....Stop the Insanity!

It is true that the press has a rather provincial bent to it, therefore it behooves anyone who wants to be really informed to read beyond one's own borders and get other perspectives. To that end and for those truly interested, may I recommend the English versions of Le Monde Diplomatique, Frakfurter Algemaine, Haaretz and the English Independent and Guardian, both non profit newspapers and why not Al Jazeera?

It isn't up to the press to apologize for the mistakes of a country. nor is the press particularly ethnocentric. Although it is the media's job to show what is REALLY going on, not just parts. I know that the news doesn't tell me the whole story, so I don't particularly pay attention to it.

I have always thought that it should be the job of the press to report and not judge. Every news paper has an editorial page and the press opinions should stay on that page.

The press spends way to much time on politics and not enough time on the actual news.

Journalism 101- sway the reader to your point of view. The only reason FOX news was created was because there was a market for a different view. All about the benjimans.

The Middle Eastern countries do not have a free press (Hell, they don't even have basic freedoms), with the exception of Turkey, and of course, Israel (a non-Arab country). But the USA has a press which is very pro-Arab, so as far as the US battle against Nazi styled Islam goes, the press primarily aids the Arab Nazis.

The press has stretched the boundaries of the truth from it's earliest days. It is unlikely it will improve any time in the future.

Existing opinion shapes the slant of the news. If a news media presents a viewpoint that is not in common with most of it's readers or listeners, it would not succeed.
Media simply rides the current of opinion that already exist.

Our own News Media portrays America as evil.
They have done this since the 60's.
They portray us as evil to help get Democrats elected to office.
They both despise the USA.
