Yeah, I've been trying to round up my high school classmates, since we had no reunion last year. It's not easy to find someone. The internet gives you more possibilities, but there are so many people with the same name, that it doesn't help a lot. You can try a google search on the person's name in quotes, and look online for alumni societies if you went to school together. For example, I started a Yahoo group for my high school and found a lot of people that way when they discovered the group and joined it. Then they told me about other people that they had stayed in touch with. My high school has also set up its own alumni website, and I found a few people on that. But I still haven't located the people who I most wanted to find. In the past year, I found 35 of my class, out of 400. Well, I also found 30 who died, so I guess you could say I know what happened to 65 people.

If you were co-workers, you can see if your place of business knows what happened to them. They probably won't be able to give out their personal information, but they might be able to give you some kind of hint or get in touch with that person for you. Some of the big online groups like Classmates.com also let people register not just under their school but under their workplace as well, just for the purpose of old co-workers being able to find each other too. Try asking friends of friends. If you knew their parents or the name of their hometown, you could start there. The library keeps phone books and might do a lookup for you, or try a classified ad in the local paper. If you're not located in the U.S., I don't know what resources there are.

Good luck in your search!
