live in springfield,mass and just joined our local ymca,i will be traveling to indiana and hawaii and was wondering if i could go to those ymca's also?

When I worked at the YMCA a few years ago, many memberships were NOT transfterable. We had 5 YMCAs in our metro area, and only one had a full fitness center, so the memberships there cost more. We accepted their members at our facility (pool and daycare only). We would take out of towners on a very limited basis. The Y across town had a very small fitness center. The facilities aren't always comparable, Your best bet is to call the individual Ys you are thinking of and ask their policy. Otherwise, I think they all have a daily rate.

As long as you are a member you can go to ANY YMCA. I used to be a Site Supervisor for the YMCA so I know. Hope this helps

Yes, that is one of the perks of membership. You will want to talk to the people at you local Y to get the scoop on the ones you plan to visit. All Y's are not equal.
