Definitely the benefit cheat - at least there is some contribution coming from the company whereas all that the benefit cheat is doing is leeching off of everyone else

Most benefit cheats have never contributed to any system, whereas the Tax dodger has at least tried to contribute.

Some small businesses can't afford to pay their tax bills through loss of business, pilfering by staff and shoplifters can bring a small business to it's knees
Big Business are the biggest tax dodgers as they can afford to employ the best accountants and solicitors.

Benefit cheats are much worse.

They dont cost the government money, they cheat them out of money they should be getting.
At least the tax dodgers are not taking anything out of the kitty so therefore, I think that benefits cheats are worse.

What a ridiculous answer from Hans! - so Hans if no-one knows that you are no paying your taxes, then it hurts no-one does it? What if everyone paid no tax? Who would pay for the upkeep of society then? I despair sometimes!

I feel the benefit cheat is worse cos they are taking and giving nothing, and possibly depriving others of benefits. The tax dodger is bad, but if they are working they are contributing something to society.

maximum income cheats have under no circumstances contributed to any equipment, while the Tax dodger has a minimum of tried to make a contribution. some small organizations can't have sufficient money to pay their tax costs by ability of lack of agency, pilfering through crew and shoplifters can deliver a small agency to it is knees large agency are the biggest tax dodgers as they could be able to have sufficient money to employ the perfect accountants and solicitors. income cheats are a lot worse.

Both are criminal and the perpetrators, tax evaders and benefit fraudsters should be severely punished if and when brought to justice. The tax evader denies the exchequer the revenue to carry out it's function as dictated by the people at an election. The benefit fraudster takes bread from the mouths of children by denying others the benefit they really need for their survival because it leads to even more harsh means testing of those seeking benefits.

Both are offences at the end of the day but most people who dodge taxes are contributing to society in the work they do. This does not mitigate the offence though. The fault is with the government in continually finding ways of taxing people, then wasting the money they take. Tax evasion is not right but it is understandable. Benefit fraud is indefensible.

The benefit thief is definitely the worst, at least the tax dodger is making some contribution to the economy in that by working he is creating wealth and thus creating employment

if we are talking about the same amounts of money, then i would say that the benefit cheat is worse as the tx dodger is still contributing to society and the economy

however someone who evades taxes usually rips more money than the benefit cheater.
ethically it also depends on whether the person on beneifts is at least trying to work

The tax dodger is worse. They have the money and choose not to pay. How many benefit cheats are there? The cost to the treasury is far more with the tax cheaters.
