I find the UKphoebook online use full when looking for people.
Theses 2 names are quite common I know of people with both names in the Donegall rd in Belfast have you any idea whereabouts in Belfast.

Try a genealogy search as there are lots of people with some thing the same name, also try Irish names and meanings books available from the library, can you narrow down your search?what area of Belfast was your family from? also if you have the time check out Belfast city council web site lots of information on deaths births and marriages,if they were church of Ireland check the Parrish records for the area.
