Hello Heddi. I have to ask a question. If you are so sure that you cannot be pregnant why did you do a pregnancy test? The only way that you could be that sure that you are not pregnant would be if you had not had sex. Other than that, you could be pregnant.
There are many reason why a pregnancy test could be wrong if it were negative. Much less common would be a false positive.
There are things that would cause the hormone levels (HCG) in your urine to not be high enough for the test to pick them up. You did not say for sure but it does sound like you did a urine test rather than a blood test. If you had a blood test I would be much more convinced that you are not pregnant as they are very, very accurate.
I do agree with you that calling your doctor is the best thing to do. As late as you are she should not have any problem ordering a blood test which will give you an answer once and for all.
I am betting that you are pregnant. Ten days is a long time to be late, I certainly understand your concern. Are you having any other symptoms of early pregnancy? Frequent need to urinate? fatigue? achy breasts? these answers would help.
I hope that is the answer that you want and that you are not facing a fact that you are not prepared for. You should try to prepare yourself for the very real possibility that you are pregnant. Many, many women end up being pregnant even though the first urine test that they took was negative.
Take care of yourself and if you have a minute let me know what you find out!
Blessings

Women for all different reasons stop having periods at some time in their life. Most of the reasons are nothing to worry about, the period may not be showing due to stress, medication, drug use, hormone levels etc. Since you are sure that your not pregnant I would get yourself down to the doctors and explain the situation to them. They will be able to do some simple tests and find out if there is anything wrong, which I doubt so please dont panic. A lot of our medications have side effects which we dont know about until its too late.
So get down the doctors and let him help you. I wouldnt worry though at this early stage, my mum didnt have any for 7 month and the doctor done all sorts of tests, but they came back natuarlly. The issue was stress, and the more your stress about them not coming, the more stress keeps them away.
Good Luck

Is it usual for you having late menstrual cycle?? It could be because your Hormones changes. It happened to me once when i was very stressful. If you are sure you aren't pregnant (sometimes, the pregnancy test can be wrong by one test), then try to discuss with your doctor, and she/he may prescribe you to take some hormones medicines. Your stress level can be the point. Take some rest and relax your mind and body and it will return back!
My cousin used to be getting period every 6 months or so but when she got married, she was able to have baby and now she has 2 kids. It's just an information. Calm down! and Good Luck

I missed my period for 3 months due to stress. I had the same thing as you...a little bleeding at one point in time, but no real period. It took until month 2 to figure out it was the stress I was under. Pregnancy tests can come out wrong sometimes. My cousin did 3 at-home tests and 2 blood tests before she found out that she was pregnant. Talk to your doctor.

At home pg test could have been wrong take another one different brand. If this still comes up neg have your doctor do a blood test or a ultrasound both can show why there is such a gap in your cycle. But still see your doctor no matter what could possible be early menopause, some kind of cancer on your ovary, blocked ovary's (sorry too scare you if i do). And if your pg congrats if it was planned and if not still congrats let us know.

Don't know if this will help or not, but when I was 18, I left home for my first real job, and I wasn't having sex before that, and I wasn't having sex after I left either. I didn't have my period for three months. I wasn't worried enough to talk to the doctor because I hate my period and I knew I wasn't pregnant. I believe it was stress. Are you under a large amount of stress? Something to think about.......

I lost my period for 6 months because I lost too much weight. I learned during that time, that is is very common for women to lose their periods due to significant weight gain, weight loss, and stress.
Your doctor will run blood tests to check the hormone levels in your blood, which should give you a good idea what the problem is, and how to fix it. Good luck!

My friend just had this problem. She was 4 weeks late. pregnancy tests kept coming back -. She is only 24. Turns out she did not ovulate and therefore her period did not come. She had to get a shot to jumpstart her period.

Do you have an eating disorder? If your body is lacking food or taking in too much food it will off set your cycle.
