the best time for buying laptops is in march. after the budget in February, there is chance for the taxes to go down. another thing march is the financial year ending for most of the companies, so usually to get rid of the stocks there will substantial discounting.
The best laptop brand in my view is go for an Acer....... which gives value for your money. Acer is presently the 4th largest brand in the world.

hey just wait until Windows Vista releases and finally comes to india, and at present Compaq is presenting the lowest rate for Laptops in India. so wait for sometime or just go to a computer shop and ask them for the prices and configuration you want.

it is not any specific period that prices fall....but you are lucky as intel prices are gonna fall on 21st march by 33 %......and hence the laptops containing intel processors and motherboards are gonna definitely go down.....so if u can wait u can save atleast 6-8 thousand....and u can go for dell if u want cheap...then there is hp and u want bit expensive 1 then go for compaq

there is no time just check for offers on news papers.i hope the prices will get down when the new dell plant will be ready in chennai.
