I hear you man... I'm a Leeds fan from Canada. From the north American point of view (Sorry, I can't be British even if I try), I think they should first sort out of the financial problems they've got. And I think they are about to do that now. The next step is to rebuild the team gradually from youth. I don't want to see it happen but I won't feel too bad if they drop another level from CCC. The key is to build the foundations right. What happened to the team from 2000 was that we bought too many players thinking that money will bring us success. Well, we are not Chelsea or Man. U. even though we consider ourselves a big club. Money bought us some success but it won't last forever. Having a good team in the long run is to have good players from our own system generation after generation. I know you can't have all 11 players from your own, that's when you go buy the missing pieces. But you won't be handicapped by the money you have to spend and buy these players.
Well, I'm always going to be a Leeds fan no matter when and where I am. I wish they could learn the lessons from 5 years ago and this time, build the team with a solid foundation so even if we have to stumble once a while, we wouldn't fall so hard like now.

You're never too big to go down. The worst thing that could happen to Leeds was Ken Bates coming in. Since his arrival Leeds attendances have gone into free fall. At least they'll have a couple of local derbies next year against Bradford and Huddersfield. It couldn't have happened to a nicer team though. The Leeds and Barnsley fans should at least be happy that they're going down tgeva. The two best teams in Yorkshire now come from the best city in Yorkshire so normal service has been resumed.

That is what Leeds Uted are paying the price for buying players over the odds. When they were doing well the season which leads them to the UEFA competition, the players were getting complacent, and the manager, David O'Leary bought team players instead of players who are better to enhance the squad. This resulted in the team not playing well. And I also remembered, O'Leary overspent his budget for next season for the UEFA competition, which means if they don't win the competition, they will have no money and will have to sell their players. This was the result and they have to sell all their best players. Up to now, Leeds Utd are a poor club, which have no money to buy in the transfer market. And it is a mistake of the Chairman not to sell his club. If a consodium comes in and buy the club over, and start investing in players, Leeds Utd will be able to come out of the doldrum. If not, they will have to depend on their youth academy to get good players in for the first team squad.

Leeds Utd were doing so well they reached the semi final of the Champions League on 2001 (I might be wrong about the yr)...
But b cuz of financial problems, David O' Leary had to sell key players like Alan Smith, Paul Robinson, Harry Kewell, Rio Ferdinand, Mark Viduka, Jermaine Pennant, Robbie Keane and youth graduates James Milner and Aaron Lennon...

Sad to see Leeds in this way, Risdale shouldn't of been allowed near a football club again. Just look at the players they had to let go of: Aaron Lennon, Paul Robinson, Alan Smith, Rio Ferdinand, Jonathon Woodgate, Robbie Keane.
Leeds will rise again!

It's like a few other people have said........Ridsdale, he was the toast of the club while everything was going great, but he gambled everything on qualifying for the Champions league & we did'nt make it! All those big money signings & wages were the root of all the problems(We were even paying wages to players who had moved to other clubs i.e. Nigel Martyn & Robbie Fowler!)
It will be a long way back but Superleeds will return! I'm just not sure "Funny eyes" Dennis Wise is the man to do it.
Marching on together!!!

it began a few years back now when Leeds spent more money than they had hoping to dominate European football and reap the rewards when they failed to do so they found themselves with crippling debts and have been on a downward spiral ever since. they had debts of 90 million pounds i don't know how much it is now but the fans could help out by going to the game's instead of yelling marching on together then staying at home. i wish Leeds the best of luck cos its a great club. but i fear if you go down this season they will go into administration.

Leeds utd will be out of Debt soon and that's some achievement especially considering they are still paying the likes of Fowler a fat wage! i think appointing Denis wise as manager wasn't very clever he is a loser!
