Hello,
In my educated opinion, I think every English speaking country in the world have their own erroneous ways of using the English language, I did not go to oxford, but there are 'slangers' there as there are everywhere, English, is a very difficult language to learn, so when you have to take your A levels in the subject an 'A' is a great achievement, on your results list. we, here in England can abuse our language better than anywhere else in the English speaking world, and you will got no lists from me with this kind of abuse on it...
Suffice it to say, and here is a momentous error, but think about it.
Let us say it is 8 am on a fine English Spring morning, and down at an English farm, a Farmer is out on his tractor sowing seeds that will be ready to harvest come the Autumn harvest, simultaneously, his dear wife is at home repairing the trousers the farmer tore yesterday, and his wife is busying herself sewing the tear, this is to say, they, the Farmer and his wife are both doing a job that the English language has no way of spelling the word, that describes what they are both doing at 8 am on that day. While the Farmer is sowing, his wife is sewing, so how do we spell the word that describes what they are both doing, this is not the only problem we have with this language of ours, there are, many many more.
As for speaking the language, there are definitely foreigners, that can use our language better than born english speakers, and just maybe we could take a lesson or two from them. interesting question, I enjoyed answering it for you. So I would endeavour to say, that we English are the worlds greatest abusers of our own Language 'Bye...

If you asked this question in any one of the English Speaking Countries you would get different answers, We all sound different to each other, we may think ours is the perfect interpretation, but I am sure the USA, Australia, South Africa etc etc etc would all feel the same way, My friends in the US cannot tell the difference between and English and an Australian accent, we all have bit of each other, we all have our own slang, Its what makes us unique and that has to be a good thing..

It depends - different people from different countries have varying grasps of the English language, depending on how much they study it. You could probaly find a person from India that speaks better English than some English folk.

England..

Cockney accent!!! Scouser accent!!
Skin & blister = sister, what is that about?
Pronouncing a word with the letter R as if it sounds like a W in it.
It just reminds me of Puntious Pilot in the Life of Brian, which is a great film.

Scottish accent is perfect. At least we can understand what they are saying. I'm Irish..

America then England.

In my experience the Danes and the Germans speak good enough English for us to be embarrassed about the way we speak and write in this country.

If I click on a question and see bad English in the first sentence, I don't even bother to read it, let alone answer it.

No offence but America, with their slangs and shortening of certain words. eg. thought to thou; going to to gonna, the list continue. This really is influencing the world, mostly the English learning Countries.
