Like all genres, country music has both good and bad music. I suspect that those who profess to hate it just haven't heard stuff they like or aren't used to it.

It's like 'urban music'. To me, most of it, whether hip hop or RnB, sounds repetitive and tuneless. But then occasionally, I will hear something that really clicks (I heard a track from DMX's most recent CD that was really good!)

Me personally, I don't like country AT ALL, because it mostly sounds the same to me, twangy, the vocals sound strange because of the overlapping thing (know what i mean, sounds like there are twins singing it?) and I don't relate with any lyrics of any country song. The lyrics are a big part of country songs, and I've never been one to pay THAT much attention to lyrics. I look more for art in music than anything. I do like really really old country music a little bit. Hope that helps.

because they need something to hate...and to listen to country there is a time and a place and a mood that goes along with it..
