While most of these answers are laughable (omnipotence a paradox huh? wow...), there are many, many ways to look at it. True, religion is an invention of man, but God is not. Religions are basically the way we perceive God and his rules, which is why there are so many religions. However, the one thing they all have in common is Faith. God exists whether you want to believe it or not, but faith is the only thing that gives us that solidity to know for a fact that he does exist. Atheism and whatnot may be widespread but that doesn't mean that because some have no faith all others should follow. It is in fact because of this that God has given us life to begin with. If you have faith, you are already saved. Destiny and fate are also a way to express faith, if destiny didnt exist how would we know that we have fulfilled it? God already knew what you were going to be before you were even conceived. He knew what you would look like, what you would love about life, all your struggles, in an instant. In the end though, it comes down to faith. Was it destiny that I found the perfect woman for me? Was it God who saved us from having to experience a nuclear holocaust? So many answers. Remember though, you can do very little with faith, but you can do nothing without it.

"My God its Full of Stars" - a quote from the Film 2010.
If you can accept that you are part of the universe, and that the universe "created you", the Universe would, logically be deemed "the creator"...
All physical matter in the universe is made out of light.
Have you ever heard the question: Do you see the light?
and have you also heard the sarcastic statement "he can't see the wood for the trees"...
God is within everyone and everything that exists (it does not have a choice on this), however, no living human being has ever been God...
Fate exists: it is governed almost entirely by the laws of Physics (including: causality - cause and effect, action, reaction), however the extremely tiny minuscule trivial matters in the universe (our lives) are also governed by our irrational tiny minds, and because man is generally so pathetic, we have many wars (i.e. Iraq, WW1, WW2, Iran, etc)
The 10 commandments, plus the one given by Jesus at the last supper are entirely relevant if we are to live in peace on this planet - for they, and the teachings he gave are the Keys to Heaven...
Religion has complicated our existence with its lies about Angels, Saints, Demons, Hell, etc...
Natural disasters occur all the time and we should never blame God for the bad or good things that happen.

GOD exists. Destiny and fate is the way we perceve his almighty plan. Yes we are full of sin he created us to have a choice if we want to beleive or not. But the in the same way a programmer can percieve what an application will do in a certain situation HE knew what our choice will be. Thus the part of destiny and fate.
But at the end of time it was still our choice. God is since the thousands of years ago until today the same, why must we change to follow the world, HE only asks us to follow him no change nessesary, only your love for him and to follow his commandments. You surely don't need to be rich, famous or special to HIM you are special famous and rich in his love.

God indeed does exist; he's my best friend. No, God doesn't make bad things happen. Bad things happen because this is a fallen (imperfect) universe, and there are evil influences in it. There are evil spirits and evil human beings who will continue to cause all sorts of grief until it is time for God to put an end to it. Religion is silly, because it is man's way of trying to reach up to God. That is why there are so many different religions--God made in man's image, if you will. You can know God, however, through a living, vital relationship with him through his Son. Ask God to reveal himself to you, and he will, if you really want to know. As for destiny, our destiny is programmed into us by the talents and abilities we are born with. However, the decision to pursue that destiny is up to us. Lastly, I do not believe in fate; rather, that fate controls us. Instead, I believe it is up to us to choose our own fate.

I believe in God. He is my creator. He created all that is good. He is only responsible for what is good on Earth. He created the Earth because He is Love, and wanted to Love more. He designed all life on this planet. He designed it all so magnificently, that all His creations work together and have the ability to sustain the Earth. I am unable to see nature, or a baby, or the love between a woman and a man, or the bond of true friends, to ask such a question. God, is existence, He breathed it into Being. He is The Ultimate.

Gods and demons and stuff do not exist. They are figments of the imagination, and people who 'love' god, are, simply, delusional. Our minds are very powerful, and lead us to believe all kind of irrational things, merely because of 'suggestion'.
Have a quick count and see how many 'gods' different people believe in, how many have fallen by the wayside, or have simply been forgotten. The very number of gods will tell you, if you let it, that they are non-existant! Think on, every time you eat a burger, you are eating a 'god' that millions of people believe in. And that's just for starters! Where are Zeus, and Odin, and Baal, and Osiris and Ra, etc. They are waiting in the dustbin for todays gods to join them, that's where!

God is not something you can touch. He/She is an idea created by the human race. The general idea was to ensure that people will use the teachings of their religion to act in a kinder way to other living things. this seems to have all backfired. All that happens now is that people fight over the "greatest" religion.
The greatest religious person doesn't attend a church or mosk (apologies for the spelling), but uses any power they posses to help other people any way they can, from the simplest act of a motorist letting someone cross the road, to risking their lives for others.
God is your conscience.

The things that happen are the results of the choices and actions that people make! If you do not like the results that come do not look for a God or Devil to point the finger at. Simply look at the choices you made that produced that result and then change the choice. DO NOT DO THE SAME THING TWICE!!
There is NO GOD!!
There is no need for one!
Life is all cause and effect!

I reckon I can only comment on part of your question.
The commandments and the seven deadly sins apply as much today as they did then because, even though Industry etc has changed our lives, we are still, as humans, much the same as we were then.
I do not think you will ever get an answer to your question of Gods existance, but do not give up asking because you may learn other things as a result.

I used to beleive in God but as I've got older and watched all the bad things wars, murders, children being assaulted, poverty and hardship amongst other things, I really think if there is a God how on earth could he let these things happen, over and over again. I do however believe in destiny and fate.
