Hehe.. languages. arent they fun? I'm trying to relearn Filipino and this is what my friends tell me:

1. Listen in on conversations... or join them, rather. Ask questions if you're lost.

2. Practice Speaking. Sure, you may sound a bit dumb at first. But you'll improve. TRUST ME. I was speaking english at my old school [having a hard time using Filipino in conversations] but when i transfered schools, i kinda go used to using Filipino and i have Improved.

3. Listen to English songs and watch English movies. Its almost the same as listening on conversations.

4. Read English books. And a English - Your language dictionary. Then practice writing sentences... It may be pretty boring, but its one way to work on Improving.

Thats about it. What i like doing though is chatting with someone who can speak the target Language pretty well but also knows a bit of your language. So in your case, chat with someone like a friend who's fluent in English.

Hope this helps~ ^^;

i think you should first buy an English dictionary and try to listen to native speakers.
songs would not have the pronunciation clearly heard due to the effect of music and rhythm.
if you watch films, the first words you learn should be something rude or so called foul language. some actors in the film would have some accents due to the needs of the story.
