Fish & turtle, are they friends?

Do fishes get along with turtles a tank, if so what kind of fishes can and can't?

For the most part the answer is no. However I do have a a tank which includes three red eared sliders, the largest of which has an 8" shell. The fish in the tank are an 8" tiger oscar, and an 8" plecostamus. The turtles ignore the two fish aside from when they want to rest in the same hiding spot as the plecostamus. Any fish smaller than about 3" is immediately eaten though, who eats it, turtles or oscar, is up for debate though.

It is not a good idea to put them together. They need very different set ups, Turtles create a lot of waste (that the fish would have to breath through) not to mention the fact that even if the turtle is too little to eat the fish, they could still chase the fish, bite pieces out of it's fins, stress it, and then eventually eat it.

I never recomend the two together unless you are feeding the turtle, and then there have been a couple cases of the feeder fish that just refused to die....but out of twenty tossed in there, one gets away....for a while. So the odds aren't so great.

Turtles and fish dont often get alongside to start with yet you may ask your puppy keep some pleco. they are algae eaters and could help you keep your tank sparkling and grant your turtle with company IF the folk on the puppy keep say it's going to be ok. I purely dont be attentive to. that is purely an thought. wish this facilitates.

Oh yes, like lion and zebra. Seriously, turtles will eat any fish you put in with them. They also produce so much waste that the water could not sustain fish life for long.

yes, they will get along... until the turtle is large enough to catch and eat the fish
