To name a few

Dad - Pink Floyd, Frank Zapper, and loads of other freaky music
Mum - Phil Collins, James Taylor, R.E.M

I prefer my mums choice in music rather than my dads !

Big band and other music of the 40s-50s.

I was raised on it before beginning my music studies in school, followed by guitar, rock&roll, etc.

It was a real blessing, as I was able to entertain at large wedding receptions that required knowing more than 3 chords and how to work the volume knob. Those gigs payed darned good $$$

I still enjoy large band jazz to this day, in addition to everything else (blues, contemp. jazz, rock).

My dad likes ABBA, The Beatles and Queen. I find ABBAs stuff really annoying personally. I actually think some of Queens stuff is alright but the rest of it - hate it.

My mum loves rock 'n' roll she was really embarrassing when i was a kid she used to dance in the living room to 'rock around the clock' and the like, she used to do the 'twist' mostly. Her favourite is Cliff Richard. Horrible and very embarrasing!

Parents!

Stuff like Teena Marie, Hall and Oates, Cameo, Prince, Level 42, Roachford, Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone. Whenever I hear that kind of music, it reminds me of my childhood and I love it! Some of the above artists are in my cd collection and I listen to them regularly.

My mom wasn't big on any music, but my dad listened alot to Elvis and any old country songs and he still does! Yes I can live with Elvis but have a problem with Conway Twitty or something like that.

They listened to the big bands. Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey., "Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me", *I have an old acetate of a song called "Say When". I didn't like their music when I was a teenager but I like it now.

My dad liked Johnny Cash and other C&W. My mum was into Diana Ross, Shirley Bassey (CYMRU!) and The Carpenters. I'll quite happily whistle a Carpenters tune!

My dad has always listened to thing like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, and I love all that stuff too. Mum listens to Meatloaf, which I really don't love at all, but it keeps her happy :o)
