I am looking for a well-written, well-photographed, preferably recent book on minimalist architecture or design that includes both information about the minimalist concept as well as several relevant case studies. I'm not actually expecting an informed answer, so if I receive one, I'll be ecstatic (and I'm sure the answerer will get a few points, as well).

Franco Bertoni and others have books listed at the RIBA bookshops (Royal Institute of British Architects) that get into the minimalist architectural issues. I recommend his book "Minimalist Design"... I believe it will have a comprehensive review of the subject. Also, you could look at Piet Mondrian's bio and works if you want more of a fine art take on minimalism.
