Has anyone else out there noticed that many people who engage in yahoo answers use horrific grammar, punctuation, spelling, or all of the above? I'm apalled!! It's so hard to read some of the crap for lack of grasp on the english language. Is it just me?

My apologies SMB. It wasn't meant to offend people who speak other languages. Just take a look at the perfect example by Angelrose.......

I completely agree. Lazy spellers or lack of knowledge thereof is extremely distracting!

Minds are racing! Time is flying! Just carry the message across: that's the mission! Yes, some of us could slow down a bit and watch out for our own appalling (appalling) use of the language, the bridge that gets us across to others!

It's not just in this forum. Instant messaging, e-mails texting have all shown a lack of grasp on spelling and the language.

I am more surprised by your luck of understanding of the system. This is not a forum targeted by certain groups only therefore people hear come from different background, wide age group, different level of education etc there fore you should not expect all participants to be at the same level.

By the way English is not a first language for everyone so you should celebrate the fact that we all have this open forum where ever parts of the world we happen to be now.

Apart from enjoying it one of my reason to do this is to improve my English so please gibe us a credit.

squealy,
This question gets posted over and over and over again.
No, it's not just you. We who care about spelling and grammar are continually being appalled by the atrocious examples that appear on this site. Alas, there's nothing we can do.

No, it's not just you. It's amazing how bad it can be sometimes! Actually, it doesn't help that the spellchecker available has many mistakes - that just floors me! We all just need to be good examples for the others, I guess.

I agree, especially since there is a spell check feature provided.
