Yes I think you have depression but im not a doctor. I have had depression and its not nice at all. You must go and see your GP and tell him what is going on. As this could get worse and your relationship could end due to this. Some times you are only on medication for a few months or a year. But talking to your GP will help you a lot. Its not fair on you, your hubby and your little child/ren. Dont worry about what the doctor will say or anything like that cause this is very common after having children. You must try and get out or join a gym, group of some sort. You need time on your own too.
I do hope you get through this difficult time in your life. All the best xx

It's soooo easy to write this of as a hormone imbalance, but to tell you the truth I think you ARE showing signs of depression. But HEY, that's OK, you're admitting to having depression and that is half the battle won. Most people who are depressed, deny that they are so.
As for taking pills, most medicines in pill form also come in syrup form, so there's no problem there. Pop yourself along to your GP and have a chat to them and see what they recommend.
You also need to get out more. So go to your local library and talk to the assistants there and they will have information on parent toddler groups you can go to. You will soon find you have plenty of friends.

Ive had depression, and was on medication, so take it from someone who knows!
If you think you might be suffering from depression, please please please go to your doctor ASAP and get the problem looked at. I put it off for far too long and it almost destroyed my life. There seems to be a stigma attached to taking anti depressants as well, but honestly, they worked for me! You might need to persevere and things dont happen over night - i was on them for a total of 8 months before I was off them for good - and boy did they help me get my life back on track!!! Depression is simply an imbalance in the chemicals in your brain, making you feel the way you are feeling now (i too lost my sex drive, now its back with a vengance ;) ) - anti depressants help your chemical levels to stabilise over a period of time (can sometimes take a few months to start working so dont expect anything over night!)
Simple as this, get to the doc and let him help you get yourself back on track - id probably be a gonner by now if I hadnt. And if you have a problem swallowing tablets, you could always just open up the capsule, tip the little bit of powder from it into a glass of water and down it. Might not taste great, but not as bad as a straight vodka either!
Good luck, get yourself sorted - and take care.....

I too have a child the same age as you my first child I was fine but following my second I feel the same way as you I had them close together.
I don't feel the same person as I was, I have increased my hours at work which has helped, joined a gym , computer classes and an aerobic class I am now looking at the property market to buy and let
These are all things to stop me worrying about myself but if I was to be truthful I should go and see my GP, I will go if you go to

You do sound depressed. I had PND after the birth of my second child and was ill for about 6 months before I sought help. I was prescribed very mild anti-depressants which worked for me. However, you can be asked to be prescribed medication in droplet form - it doesn't taste great, but it's better than taking tablets if you can't. Ask your doctor about getting help. Your husband and child (and most importantly, you) deserve it.

You need to see a doctor. You sound depressed, you need to talk to someone about what is bothering you and if the doctor does prescribe you pill, crush them up and mix them with applesauce or something. But you need to seek help,no one wants to live a sad life. At least let a doctor help you feel better

I would definitley go see a doctor before this gets any worse. there are many ways to help depression not just with tablets and the longer you leave it the more depressed you will get. there are herbal remedies, counselling, your doctor will find something to suit your individual needs.
Please go see somebody make yourself and your family happy again x
