maybe stay up a full 24 hrs (or close to.. at what ever time you wanna go to sleep) and then start from there?
I've been working on sleep schedules for over 30 years now.. Problem is I dont have one at all.. its random.. Luckily I'm retired now so its not a big deal really..

Try getting yourself to sleep at 10 or 11pm....It would be hard at first, you might even still not fallen asleep until the hours you usually sleep at, but dont wake up and start doing activities, just lay there ,
Listen to some soft music, and you could even try counting the sheep.
After a few days your body will be accustomed to this early sleeper habit and you'll be back on track . Good luck!

It may not sound fun, but you can start winding down earlier and get yourself to bed by 9 pm or so. Basically forcing yourself to go to sleep. Once you get in the habit of doing this, your body will start to get back to a more "normal" sleep pattern.
Unlike the rest of us, who are awake on Yahoo Answers at 4 am!
Best of luck!

I went to my doctor after I stopped working 3rd shift and he prescribed me sleeping medication. He told me to take it each night at the same time and to wake up at the same time each morning. If you do this your sleep schedule should be back on track in no time.

Take a warm bath and drink milk before going to bed that would make you sleepy. You can read boring books too that way, your eyes gets tired and you'll feel sleepy eventually.
