Yours must have gone in the same direction as mine - my identity was only 25 years old. I think it saw human rights, europe and political correctness coming and decided to walk off the other direction. I think we should set up a 'lost identity' booth somewhere

I have exactly the same problem! I am 52 as well and I've spent most of that time thinking I was one of those English people who is made up of various tribes...you know, Celts, Saxons, Danes, Pict's, etc, etc...
Then I thought I was still English but we had become so identified that we could be told apart from the Scots, the Welsh and the Irish. Then it was necessary to invent Britain so we could be kept apart for identification purposes.
Then Britain got all ambitious and in order to tell us apart from the rest of the world we invited most of the rest of the world...at gunpoint...to join us in an empire. When this all went to s**t we called it a commonwealth instead...the...(ahem)...British Commonwealth no less!
So now it has all gone wrong again...the mighty onslaught of a 6% ethnic minority population has clouded the English brain to the extent we no longer can tell the difference between an Eccles cake and a samosa!
What is to become of us!!!! SOB!!!!

I found it with many others on a tip, it turned out to be an illusion that shrank slowly as you 'travelled' and discovered what a person is.
You can have it back or you can recognise your new identity and celebrate.
Would you recognise yourself if you went back to when your national identity appeared?

Don't worry about it, it's actually a good thing to have lost. It's mostly used only to cause division and acute xenophobia anyway.
