I always eat in the car.

I wonder the very same thing. I actually live in Bloomfield and the law is real. What makes it stupid is the fact that you cannot eat in your car at ANYTIME. Signs are posted outside of every fast food and drive-thru restaurant. You have to sit in the restaurant or eat at home. You can't even eat while parked; at least you can do that with cell phones.

Wow, that is bad...
I think many of these laws get passed because of overall apathy. It takes government really intruding into ones personal life before people raise a complaint.
In fact locally to me, they tried to pass a no smoking ordinance in public places. Gawd, I've never seen so many people in a battle.
In fact, if it were to pass (which it didn't) people that provided any business from home like accountant, therapist would be banned from smoking in the privacy of their own home.
You're right, they are stupid laws. Seems like some politicians have a power issue.

I am NOT saying that I agree with the law/s but I believe it is because a person canNOT safely operate a car if you are eating, or talking on the phone, OR applying makeup, or reading. I have myself actually seen people doing one or MORE of the above. The best one I have seen is a woman one morning putting makeup on and I couldn't believe it but she was actually on the phone and driving. I almost chit. I really couldn't believe that she was actually driving, applying makeup, & talking on the phone. One hand holding phone, one hand applying makeup, so you tell me how she was safely operating this car? So when I see stuff like this YES I have to agree with the law/ordinance. BTW, This happened in 2006 in the New Bedford, Massachusetts area.

Honestly, I think it is because people just don't care. Here in California, there is even a proposal to ban spanking. You just gotta love those California Democrats.

The reality is that many of those laws never get enforced. These days, law enforcement must prioritize its resources and enforce a "no eating while driving" law is ot exactly high on that list.

They accept them for many reasons. One being they are stupid people. Many don't know they are passing those draconion laws against us. We are the enemy as defined by the homeland security act. Therefore we must be controled, watched, spyed upon and arrested to fill up their newley created consentration camps all over America. Anyone who loves Jesus, anyone who loves freedom, owning property, anyone who believes in having rights, and raising your own children as you see fit are deemed terrorists. After all we are all terrorists now aren't we? Manley because there are no men anymore to stand up, to storm these legislatures and sream as loud as we can to force them to protect our rights, not remove them. We are being taken over by third world countries and thats how they operate. No rights to the people, control, control, control. It's nice to have a government to tell you whats good for you and whats not. After all, we were born with no brains right? Wake up America! Stop being good democrats, stop being good republicans, start being good Americans. Watch the movie Freedom to Facism by Aaron Russo at www.FreedomtoFacism.com or at www.infowars.com Start paying attention slavesand wake up your neighbors. "V" for Vendetta also spells out whats next!!!!!!

Did you know that in Macclesfield, England, it is illegal to wear a belt on Sunday?

Did you know that most of the stupid laws, which you read about on the internet, like the above one, are just made up?

if you are eating while driving and you make a mess on your self, you will try to wipe it off making you lose attention on your driving. and then you'll cause an accident. i hope they pass no use of cell phones while driving real soon. i lost count of the all most accidents that i missed because of cell phones.
