Many, many reasons:

It was started under false pretences - that Saddam had WMD - and there's increasing evidence that the main protagonists (Bush and Blair) ought to have known that the 'evidence' about WMD was unreliable, to say the least;

There was a totally false linkage created by Bush between 9/11 and Saddam - on September 12th several senior members of the administration were looking for ways to blame the atrocity on Saddam even though they knew better.

The whole thing was badly planned and badly implemented, relying on over-optimistic estimates of the welcome that they would get. In consequence everyday life for most Iraqis (those that haven't emigrated) is actually worse than under Saddam.

The whole region is in danger of de-stabilisation with results that are unpredictable but nasty.

You can't say that a Democrat starting it would have made it orgiveable. The reality is that a bunch of neo-conservatives, far to the right of most Republicans, had been planning something like this for years and used Bush as their patsy. It's perfectly possible that a less extreme Republican would have read the evidence differently and not acted so rashly. You have to blame the extreme neocons for this, and they do both parties a poor service as well as the USA as a whole.

antagonistic to the Iraq warfare yet because we began it we opt to end it. for sure there is the threat that with Saddam in potential we would want to have ultimately had to pass to warfare in some unspecified time sooner or later. Who is conscious? I basically imagine the money might want to were more effective powerful spent interior the u . s . on better half and children potential progression. ideas you, i'm no longer some fool who's blindly anti-warfare or anti-military. till all people interior the international ceases to be aggressive there'll always be a choose for a military. see you later as countries compete for land and substances there'll be warfare. those who marketing campaign to end all wars or get rid of the military live in a dreamworld.

It is an unjust war . It does not matter who stated it is imposed war with hidden agenda of oil and Reconstruction works in destroyed IRAQ. WMD was not the issue it was control of oil resources and looting of wealth. If it was not the case why destroy water system,electric,banking, army,police, and Finlay ethnic war and leave Iraq to bleed to its own death. Wise American. All are responsible including Congress because it approved and it gives money.

I don't know why it is the war in Iraq that people are so much against. But any war of aggression is a crime.

Are you people against the war in Iraq? YOu think it's because of democrats? Get your **** straight....it's not about democrats....

People are against the war because there was no real cause, it wasn't related to terrorism, and no WMDs. Bush is lying about the situation, soldiers are dying for something that most don't believe about. The citizens of Iraq for the most part don't want foreign forces there. Soldiers are frustrated because sometimes they aren't allowed to choose the fights they want, their attacks are mostly suicide bombers...so how do you fight that?

You people make me sick. I am for the war. (My blood pressure just went up.)
We (Americans) didn't start the war. Don't you people remember 9/11? All of those people that died? Well I remember. Bush is doing what he thinks is best for the U.S. And I am very thankful for it. I sleep better at night knowing I wont die because some moron wants to strap a bomb to his @$$. You people just go by what you see in the news and all the news reports is the negative stuff about the war. Do some research before you say anything.
If you don't think Bush is doing the right thing than get out of our country and go to Iraq.

I was in the military when 9/11 happened. And I never been so pissed in my life when i saw what happened. I would go over in a heart beat. And most of the military men and women that are over there right now are happy to be there. I have friends that are over there right now and they said they are happy to be over there because they know they are doing it to protect Americans.
You people should be grateful.

Are you serious with this question? We are fighting a war based on lies and deception. Innocent men and women are be killed on a daily basis and there is no end to it and our country is in debt. The only good thing is Saddam is gone. So for all your war mongers grow some ballz if your so for it when they start a draft be the first to volunteer or send your children there to fight.

I think its because no one wants to get involved with liberating people who had no chance under the rule of Saddam. They all just care about bashing Bush and what he believes was the right thing to do. Iraq posed a threat to us because of there acts of violence, and how they treated their own people. We needed to put a end to it before they attacked us again.

People are against it because it was illegal. We can't go around declaring war on people just because we don't like them. If that was the case we'd all be permanently at war.
