If you mean by Microsoft Powerpoint slides, there are aa couple of ways to spice up a presentation.

1. Try using special effects.
Add sounds, custom animations, slide transitions, and other tools that can interest a watcher. Remeber to use pics :)

2. Don't cram too much text on a slide.
Remember that you can add more slides later. Keep you font size to about 28 Arial. Also, have enough spacing between text.

3. Have eye friendly colour schemes.
Don't have a black background with black text. Use contrasting colors but are still pleasing to the eyes. Better yet, use the templates in the program.

the best tip anyone can give is that :

DON'T OVERDO IT !!!

1. Short and succinct sentences/ points
I get put off by really long and wordy ppt presentations. It bores me and am not interested in reading on.

2. Colour choice
Basically, the font colour should stand out against the background. E.g, don't use say, yellow words on a white background

3. Visuals
The use of visuals (pie charts, images etc) should help your ppt. These attract the audience, and helps audiences to remember facts better. However, try not to include too many visuals.

I think that's basically it, hope it helps!
