You cant face it. Some people don't have it and never will (bastards) I too suffer from stage fright. You can't just get rid of it. If you have stage fright, you always will. Some say that the more often you go on stage, the easier you get. BS. It never got easier for me. Look some people just weren't meant to be on stage (I'm one of them). Don't worry, there's no shame in it. It's just that if you can't take the heat of the audience, you should get the hell out of the hot spotlight. Because it NEVER get's easier.

you can never get rid of stage fright, all you can do is to lessen it by having self-confidence and trusting yourself. everytime you get on stage you will feel nervous but think of the crowd as if it's just a sea, and imagine that you're performing in an empty room. because performers should concentrate more on their act than on the audience..=P

Concentrate on your job on the stage. If you are there for a speech, concentrate on what you are going to speak rather than on audience. Think as if you are speakign to friends and not unknown people.
Imagine youself in audience, how would you react to a mistake done by a participant on stage? We are neutral to other's mistake but when it comes to we making mistakes, we don't accept it and that's the reason we pressurise ourselves. Take it easy, cool!
Be yourself!

1.Start with your family members. Help them in need regularly.
next friends, and relatives.
2.Gain confidence in steps. Once you develop the feeling of affection to all around you, your stage fear will vanish naturally.

convince yourself when you're up on the stage, that you're just rehearsing in the bathroom. that's what i did. Its just a matter of will power and mustering the confidence to stand in the middle of the crowd.

Have the very first thing you are going to say, memorized to perfection.
I am not a natural speaker, but I find once I get the first sentence out, the rest goes OK.
