I woke up this morning to feed them and I saw this big bald spot on her head. I looked for signs of flaky or scaly skin or whatever and her skin looks fine (pinkish color). I did notice some very small white pimple like spots near her eyes (both eyes). She acts normal and doesn't seem to know that she has a bald spot on her head. Eats, drinks, plays, etc. No runny nose too. Is she just molting or are there any skin problems causing this? thanks

Is she a house rabbit? My house rabbit was being taken care of by someone and they had left her outside. She ended up getting fleas right on the top of her head and because of them, she had a big bald spot. At first we didn't even see the fleas as they were hiding.

I don't know if its molting, mine does pull her fur out sometimes, but it doesn't leave any bald patches. She just pulls out excess fur. You can try this website, I'll list it below, but they have lots of helpful info on rabbits. If nothing changes soon, I'd take her to a vet, she doesn't sound stressed out as you said, she hasn't really noticed! Good luck!

For it to happen that fast, I'd have to disagree with both of the first two answers.

My first thought is:

Is she in the same pen with any other rabbits?

If not then:

Does her pen connect directly to another pen where the pens are only separated by a wire divider and not a solid panel divider.

My thought is that you have another rabbit chewing her fur off. It could be her baby bunnies if she has bunnies in the cage with her or another rabbit if she has another rabbit in the same cage with her. Or she could be putting her head up to the edge of her cage and another rabbit is chewing the fur off through the wire.

There's a possibility that it could be something like fur mites, but most likely not.

This normally happens to does when people leave the litter with the doe for too long. Litters should be separated off the doe and into individual pens at least by the time the babies turn 70 days old.

There is a very good chance that, depending on the age of your bunny, she may be pulling her own hair. Female rabbits often do this when they reach the age at which they can mate.If she is pulling her own hair you will notice that she will keep pulling it(most often around her head, upper neck, and chest). Females do this so they can build warm nests to give birth in. If your rabbit has not been in contact with a male and you are sure she can not be with babies then she may just want to have babies. If you notice that the hair loss is only on the top of her head you might want to check to make sure shes not rubbing her head on something in her cage,or in your home if you allow her to run around freely. If she is not in fact pulling her own hair then you might want to have a vet look at her just to make sure shes not suffering from health issues. It is very easy for bunnies to become sick and often hard to cure them if they are not treated quickly.

she may be allergic to the fed you feed her or may the shaves you use in her cage so maybe try to use a diiferent food or shaving
