the bigest change is in weather patterns

Trees/vegetation through the process of photosynthesis take in carbon dioxide and give out oxgen.
So that deforestation causes increased level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide traps heat from the sun(the green house effect) so that its increased levels cause a rise in temparatures which is what is called global warming

Trees also catch rain water giving it more time to infiltrate into the ground later on, it will gradually evaporate to form clouds. If the trees are cut, the water goes away into streams, rivers or lakes as run off where it evaporates quickly and rain formation becomes a problem. So deforestation causes rain scarcity.

Deforestation causes soil erosion. This rainfall runoff takes away layers of top soil making the ground unfit for the growth of certain crops and plants.

Trees provide a home/habitat for lots of living things, both plant and animal species. So removing the trees could lead to death of some of these species.

Cutting down trees might also bring about problems with aesthetics. Where it was beatiful with a cover of trees before, it can become bare and unsightly.

Increases in green house gases.

Loss of habitat for wildlife.

Loss of species of plant and animal life due loss of habitat and increased compitition from non-forest dwelling wildlife for the same resources.

Loss of natural resources and not just timber.

Massive soil erosion.

Flooding. Many areas today flood due to the loss of forrests which used to act like giant sponges.

Loss of recreational areas and a sense of being over crowded as less and less land is left undeveloped.

Likely it has something to do with temp rises. Instead of trees soaking up the sunlight it is bounced off the layer of greenhouse gases.

An over dependence on the Amazon rain forests and other such areas since Western and many Asian nations have wiped out their own forests. This cause political friction as these nations wish to exploit their natural resources the same way we did hundreds of years ago.

Changes in the types of trees. Many ornamental trees actually produce more greenhouse gases than they absorb.

More pollutions. Some species of trees clean out more than just carbon dioxide from the air. Species that inhabit forests also help scrub the athmosphere.

Deforestation is likely the single biggest contributer to climate change in my opinion. Take all the cars off the road and you won't make one tenth the difference that planting the right kinds of trees will.

Less production of Oxygen, ie raises atmosperic CO2 levels.
Soil Erosion, - no trees to bind the soil together
Destruction of wildlife habitat.
Flooding - no trees to absorb water from soil

Some of many side affects of deforestation

there are alot of harmful effects becoz of deforestation basically..
first the global warming will get worst more than it is rite now...
more flood will occur as no roots to hold the soil together...
many animals will lose their habitat and end up homeless...
less tree to respirate means more carbon dioxide and other fumes on earth than oxygen as less trees are able to circulate the air...
thus global warming got worst and our earth will be prone to more hurricane occurences.
