I had been on the pill for a similar amount of time when I stopped to conceive. You may find you slip quite quickly into a normal cycle so you may get another period early Feb then you'll know for next time whether you are late or not. The period you had when you came of the pill was just your bodies natural reaction to the pill being stopped (as this can happen if you forget a pill, even if you take it next day). Just make sure you keep a record of all the dates.
I fell pregnant after 5 and half months of trying. I would say if you've not had a period again by end of first week of Feb then take a test as it can hardly hurt to?! It's a bit wait and see for the first couple of months, it's a little frustrating if you're excited about conceiving but just have fun trying in the meantime! ;-D

That question all depends on the women and her system. Some women take a year or so and some get pregnant right away. I was on the pill for 4 years and one day my husband and I decided that we wanted a baby so, I just stopped taking my pills mid cycle and got pregnant that month.I am sure that was because I stopped taking the pill and your told that once you start taking them you shouldn't stop. What I don't understand is....... when your on the pill and you miss a few days and do have intercourse you'll get pregnant but, when you stop taking the pill and keep trying to have a baby it takes a long time for the pill to leave your system.Hey, maybe that would be the way to get pregnant? No, I was just trying to lighten your mood. That isn't the way to do it. Good luck to you and our prayers are with you that you are with child shortly.

Everyone is different. For instance someone can miss just a couple of pils in their cycle and become pregnant-it doesn't have to 'leave' your system. it's just that some women take a few months to conceive after taking the pill for some time. However it can also happen VERY quickly so it's just a case of wait and see. your period should be due arround 27th Jan if you are on a 28 day cycle so get a pregnancy kit in ready. Good luck.

I was on the pill for 5 years before deciding to start a family!
It took about 2 years before we had our daughter.
Then after about a year, i became pregnant again with no effort!
The docs told us because we were always thinking (and wanting) about having a baby, it wasnt happening because thats all we thought about!
The docs say that when you decide on having a family, you should come off your pill, and for a few months use condoms until your periods become regular, then start trying and that way you will be able to see when your periods are actually due!
Enjoy the intercourse and nature will decide how quickly!
Good luck

It is supposed to take awhile, but my sister-in-law went off the pill after 3-4 years, and was pregnant within a couple of weeks. But then her (my husbands) family is overly fertile in my opinion. They make conception look like a walk in the park. Which the sex part is, but a lot of times, the creation of a child during the sex, isn't so easy.
