in his tank filled w/ water, he would drown if he did that? right? he's a red eared slider

There is no proof that Red-ear sliders do cloacal breathing, although some other species certainly do.
The species that do this are those that hunt in deeper water and have to spend more time underwater to hunt successfully.
Besides, when you think about it, it is pretty gross that we breathe through our snot-filled noses.

lol, some turtles just do that sometimes. I am sure that he will not drown though. mabie you should search red eared slider on yahoo or google.
