The first one was Perry McCarthy, there are numerous claims about the current one, but the one thing that's certain is, he can drive!

I feel there is more than 1 stig? but i think the track stuff is Damon Hill, did you note the nervous neck rub when asked on the show a while ago? If it's not Damon then Mccarthy would be my next gamble?

The Stig is the Essex-based racing driver Perry McCarthy. He's aso the test driver for Arrows,Williams, Benetton & taken part in the 24hour Le Mans. He has a book out called 'Flat Out Flat Broke' about life as an F1 driver.

He is one of those questions that aren't supposed to be answered. Do you know the masked Nigerian, Afro-juju artist called "Lagbaja"? No one -including me, his fellow Nigerian- knows who he is...the question just goes on..."Who is Lagbaja", "Who is the Stig", "Who is that phantom pilot (Alf; Alien Life Form)"?

Agree with Claire! Surely it'll loose the whole mystery factor, ppl will probably be really dissapointed when they find out!

he or she is bound to be F1 or from a rally background. I would imagine that those in sport professionally would recogonise them from their style of driving and posture in the car.
Any guesses?

no one knows. they might reveal it at the end of top gear, butr it is probably no one famous just a great driver
