Is it just me, or is it something in the coffee? Or, perhaps, it's the cup?

I think it is the cup. I was noticing it as well and I started purchasing my coffee and then transfering it to another cup and I was fine.
Or you can just purchase the plastic funky "Starbucks Cups" that they have at their locations and have them fill-it-up for you.

I'm with you dude, it's the coffee. It uh it uh .. . . . let's see here . . . it uh . . oh yeah: IT SUCKS. Don't get me wrong, the frappuccinos are great and their chai tea's are wonderful, but their coffee is the craps, literally. I would rather drink pickle juice than that crud. Believe it or not, local gas stations like shell carry a variety of pretty good coffees for a great price. Peet's is another place people go if they don't care for starbucks coffees.

I work in a restaraunt that serves StarBucks and it is definately GROSS!!! I asked our rep about the cardboard taste and he said it is because Starbucks burns their coffee beans and try to give it that taste!!! YUCK!
