Your Doctor AND your Health visitor will write you a letter, to support your case.
I am in the same situation, I have a 5 year old and live in a bedsit, It is hell, to say the least! I went to my local council, arranged a meeting with my local MP. All areas have day surgeries, for this type of thing. Arrange a meeting with your local MP and they too will write a note for you.
Good luck!

You definitely need more room. Doctor's letter would be good but you need to take action straight away as these things take time. contacting the housing authority is a good move but you probably need to follow up on action as they are slow to motivate. Possibly you could also find out if you could add a room if your partner can handle a hammer. One can build using seconds so the cost can be kept down and you get to stay in the same area and it is a good idea to be able to organise your own help when faced with a problem so good luck

Anything that can have a major effect on health is the doctors concern and overcrowding IS a MAJOR health concern. Yes, speak top your Dr and ask his advice and you need to speak to a social worker as well.
BTW, don't feel guilty about having a family. Families are wonderful things and it's my belife that everyone is entitled to one.

I'm not too sure if they would, but you could try contacting your local council. Explain the problem & ask if there is anything they can do for you. They should be able to do something for you, even if it is short Term.

if you are in public housing it is by law that you get rehoused to accomodate your family so a letter from doctor would be helpful but you should contact your housing authority
