Recently, I walked into a popular fastfood chain and ordered a meal. As I was waiting, I watched 4 cars order their meals. All of them got their meals before I did.

This is not the first time. I've noticed this on several occasions.

Should I start ordering through the Drive-Thru and then bringing my food inside to eat from now on?

Because they assume that you came inside because you have more time so any orders that come up go to the drive thru first so they don't have to wait and the cars don't back up.

I work in a fast food chain. Until about two years ago, we had an awesome set-up for the fryers and grill to know what orders were up. The screens would hold the orders in the order they were taken (ex. person a on counter took two orders before person b took a drive thru order, then person a's two orders would appear first) now they are divided, with the drive-thru on top, and the counter on bottom. This is confusing, because you have to watch both screens and look twice to know who's is up first. Some foods cook quicker than others, tacos would come up before a fajita in most cases. Sometimes it's tough on the people behind the counter, who may be new or learning a new station. Heck, the first couple of days a new sandwich is out are always tough because it takes a while to get the hang of it. If you really think the drive-thru is quicker, use it. I honestly think ours are about the same, but it depends on how many workers we have, and how many cars are in line, and how many people are on counter.

hey i work for fast food and it is true that drive-thru is much faster. The reason is because it comes first and has 60 second target. So anytime you will stop by you will always see the drive thru going first. The reason it is like that they assume the people who stop at drive-thru don't have a lot of time, especially during rush hours.

Where are you located? It takes AT LEAST 30 minutes where I
m at in a average drive thru line per car. Going inside is usually the fastest way to get food here.

Drive thru is always priority in a fast food restaurant.

the drive though is their first priority.I have often wondered why this happened to..its irritating walking in and seeing others served before you because they didnt want to walk in.I think its an industry standard and competition to get the outside through faster and the people that bothered walking in ..well they can wait since they didnt come through the drive through..those people are in a hurry lol..

It is not uncommon for fastfood places to put their best cashier at the drive-thru.
