Where is the best place for IT. on the desktop or under the desk on the floor?

Over the desk, on the chair, whatever......depends on my mood.

Under the desk means it will suck up more dust into the grills and get clogged faster. More of tendency to kick it while sitting at the desk, or stepping on the cables while extending your legs.

On the desktop it is easier to use the CD and floppy drive as well as plug in tot he USB ports if needed. Downside on the desk is it eats a lot of surface and the nosie level is higher from the fans.

Presume you mean your PC case, or system unit. On top of the desk it's easier to get at but it takes up a lot of room. On the floor it's out of the way but picks up a tremendous lot of dust & is vulnerable to being kicked, peed on by the cat etc.

For the best of both worlds, you can get a wire cage type thing which screws underneath the desk & the machine sits in there.

I used to keep my PC on the floor, but it would get clogged with dirt and dust, especially the fan. So now I keep it on a rack next to my desk, about 2 feet off the floor. Stays much cleaner!

It depends on what IT is.

If you mean the main box on the computer then its each to their own.

If are, like me, someone who is always changing cards and other stuff in their computer then on the desk,

But if you just want to leave it alone then under the disk is better.

on the desktop if u put it on the floor any large amount of movement could fry ur motherboard

Depends on the enviroment you work in.

Desktop is a good role as it gives you the opportunity to move about.

You really need a strong cage, electrified if possible. I'm still trying to coax mine out from the attic.

Desktop defo.........IT is much more pleasurable in a comfy position!
