My being an older woman and a wife of many years. I look back on my husband and our first years together and I smile and laugh at the times of our meals and him sitting there eating and wondering what it was.
Sweety, not every bride knows how to cook or clean a home. Its a learning process. Not every man knows how to as well. My daughters and sons call me and ask for recipes and how to make certain meals and I give those even to my daughter and son inlaws.
Id say your chances of getting married with out knowing all these things is 100%
Just a to had a light heartedness to the question. When my husband and I got married I to didnt know how to cook . But he said he loved chicken and dumblings. Well I wanted to make him happy so I took chicken from a can (Laughs thinking about this) and I made him a wonderful soup I was so pleased with my self. I was so happy for him till I realized he was trying to force his self to eat it. So , I made my self a bowl and sat down beside him all the time asking him if he like the soup. He was smiling and saying he did. Then I took a bite! I almost gag it was Chicken of the Sea Tuna not Chicken as I had thought! lmao!!!!!! God bless !

You don't have to be able to cook and clean...some men don't care about that. Some men like to cook and clean themselves. I love to cook, but I hate cleaning. Maybe you can compromise with a man who likes to do one, but not the other. Another possibility would be for you to get a job and use the money to hire a maid and perhaps take your husband out to dinner or order out.

Many women in the US can't cook or clean but have still found great men. Just don't expect a clean house if neither of you do it :)

yah, mostly it's difficult to get married in countries like india if you are a girl and if you don't know the house hold works.

it was because they have been just treated as house wives, now a days the trend has been changing and the females of the houses don't do the cooking and cleaning,
instead paid servant maids do that. however the males haven't started sharing the females' burden.

Thats ridiculous, people need to realize that women arent around to cok and clean anymore. The men have as much responsiblity to cook and clean as a girl. I love cooking for my gf and not just once and a while I mean like every day, because she helps, we do it 2gether and its time that we spend talking and helping out relationship. Same goes for cleaning, it also helps prevent fights over whos gonna do what. Men who think girls should cook and clean are way to old fashioned and pig headed. You can get married w/o knowing how to do it dont sweat it

A marriage is about give and take. You should want to become strong in weak areas. I couldn't live with a dirty home, but it takes two to keep a home up. As far as food if you can read then you can cook. there are all kinds of cook books on the market very easy to follow. I guess you just have got to have the want to work on those weakness in yourself. As long as you were working on the issues.

my first wife didnt know how either but i taught her how..you can hire a maid or learn to cook and clean..its not that big a problem especially in this day and age.. with all the heat and serve and microwave stuff and get him to share the responsibility to do half of everything.. you will be partners and that has always been my outlook on marriage its only fair .

then learn ! .. i dont think both of that r tough to learn unless just simply being lazy ...but then getting married doesnt make u the maid of the house ! ..if permits u two can get a maid or simply split the household chores between the two of u .

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to clean, especially with all the new products and gadgets out there.
As for cooking, start with simple things, dont try to make gourmet dinners.
many easy recipe books for quick and easy meals, then slowly add your own favorites by adding or changing the recipes.
Be fore long you will pass the mother-inlaw test.
