You have to do squats, they are the most effective exercise to get a butt in shape. You have to make sure you do them properly though cause if you do them wrong you will work your thighs more than your butt. I would recommend an exercise video that is for the butt area only, than you won't get bored just doing squats!!

You will get several people trying to tell you how to get a larger gluteaua maximus. Truthfully a large part of that has to do with genetics, your family genes.
Exercises can and will help, but only to a certain degree. Don't look for one of those super badunka dunks. But, you can get a nice shapely round bulbous buttocks.
Here are a couple of exercises. Yes, the squat is good but you must do it correctly to work the glutes. Make sure your feet are as wide apart as you can get them. Then proceed to do barbell squats with a semi moderately heavy weight. Do as many reps as it takes to make your butt cheeks burn.
Exercise number 2 should be leg presses. Again make sure your legs are wide apart and your toes are pointed out at a 45 degree angle. To exhaustion.
Third exercise is mule kicks. Get down on your hands and knees and one leg at a time kick your foot back. Do 4 sets of 25 for each leg. When it starts to get easy use ankly weights.
Fourth exercise stairmaster. The key to this exercise is to lean forward. Your upper body should be at a 45 degree angle. You may feel like you are going to fall over. Don't worry grab onto the hand rails.
The fifth exercise (no joke) is to lay on your back and squeeze your butt cheeks together. Hard and hold them for 15 seconds at a time. Do five to ten sets of this.
After these five exercises you will have so much junk in the trunk you will need a U-Haul to help you move. Give it a month of consistency and you will see growth and shape.
Also, eat a couple hundred extra calories per day. Preferrably peanut butter, mac and cheese, corn bread, and collard greens.
Do these exercises every 3rd day. That will be 10 in a month.

Exercises for your butts would help.
Like moving your butt cheeks up and down, tightning your butt and relaxing them.
Do it regularly and will show some result.

lift weights.. ask your trainer what excersises to do.
and buy a nice pair of jeans!! a good pair of jeans work like magic :P

sit on the floor with your legs out straight in frount of you then 'walk' across the floor on you bum. it pumps your but up real fast and dose nothing to your thighs.
if your wanting big bum and thight then do sqats
