i am pregnant with my third child i am currently in a 2 bedroom house which the rooms are very small, i can only fit a bunk bed and a chest of draws in the kids bedroom i had to put my 1 and a half year old son on the bottom bunk and his 4 years old brother on the top bunk but my youngest keeps climbing on the top bunk at night and has already fallen once which i had to take him to hospital as he had a nasty bump on his head, dont know where the baby will sleep i can fit the cot in my room but he/she cannot stay in my room forever do you think my doctor or health visitor would write a letter to my council asking for me to be rehoused?

Why don´t you ask your local MP to contact the housing department in your City Council? I am sure that your case would be treated as priority. Well, maybe I am not sure, but I really really hope that it would...

They wont even consider moving you while u are pregnant and even when the baby is born they wont do anything about it until your youngest is of a certain age, different councils different rules. But i recommend that you ask your health visitor and doc to write u a medical letter just to get the ball rolling ... Good luck u will need it !!

*edit* its not classed as a child when u are pregnant and its only classed as half (0.5) of a child until a certain age....

You can try....but what if it doesn't happen?

The problem seems to be that top bunk.

Simple solution is to get rid of the whole "top bunk" arrangement. You should have a little talk with your 4 year old so he doesn't feel like he is being punished. But just have the bed on the ground, with the bed frame raised up all the way.....put little brother's mattress underneath the bed frame, then pull it out at night for sleeping.....no more falling.

That iw ould say is a very good possibility. It should have been done before this baby. Next visit to the doc tell him or her about ur living conditions!

Yes i think they might do , you will have to speak to them, if you are over crowded and you or your childrens health, well being or safety is at risk they should be able to speak up for you.
