Yes it is affective and can develop into more if they choose it to... Age does not really matter as long as both are adults and 18 or ever. Yes you are right loyalty and honesty should be required but the sad part here in the Good old USA is that most people are not and they dont even want to be. I wish you the best with this:) Also be very careful with online dating and relationships because some people on the internet come on and they are not really who they say they are that is why you REALLY have to get to know them well before even ever wanting to meet them in person or in real life.... Pictures are important too!

internet dating may be ok, but careful who u talk to and how much personal information u give the person u r talking with, u rally have no idea of exactly who they R and u can find yourself in a bad situation
If u do the internet dating, stick to someone close to ur age, never give out ur phone number, never meet in a private location.
Pay for the service, dont use a freebies, they are safer and screened much better. Good luck and stay safe.

Some time it does matter for the sake of understanding, because aged person may be matured enough to understand where as the young person will be more immature to understand because of their less experience they will take decision with infatuation or with what ever that attracts them
but if understanding is good regardless of age then age doesn't matter.
as you said loyalty and honesty is very important and what I insist along with that is the fear of God that is essential.

I dont think age matters. Unless there is a minor involved. Then that different. My husband is 11 years older than me. We have been married 14 years!
