GREAT QUESTION! I think about this a lot. And YES, there are guys that are so thin and feminine with long girly hair that I feel more masculine around them, and I'm not as masculine as most 6'0" tall big guys! I feel like, "Is this guy really a chick or am I too stereotypically manly. And is anyone gonna think he's my girlfriend by accident?" I've seen it happen.
And when I'm around those big ol'wrestler sized dudes, I feel so weak, and not as manly as them. I feel like, "Should I go lift some weights and act tough or something so this guy so that everyone knows I'm still a man?" Or I feel like a short, immature looking child next to their tall grown man look. And I think I get that from when all the girls in school would dig the grown up looking guys over guys who look like those girls age.
I suspect most poeple feel this way around some people. This question is what I've been trying to put into words to ask for a while, great question!

Some people seem to give off a vibe where there suddenly seems to be some kind of unconscious "pecking order" in the room.
In mixed company especially, where a female will suddenly get all breathy and femme to make the guys around her pay more attention to her than the other girls.
Guys will get all play-aggressive with each other to show off around the girls.
When a guy is interested in a girl he will do his best to make her feel wanted.

I'm not a girl but I can answer this. I find myself hanging out with girls because I am into art, music, etc more than most guys my age (or maybe anyage) and when I am around guys I feel that im inadequate because I'm not a future footballer or basketballer or because I dont see the fun in making stupid burping sounds, etc. But most of the girls I hang out with are too good of friends of mine to make me feel attactive, I mean I know they all think I'm cute but its more in a brother-sister way than boyfriend-girlfriend.

what you are feeling are the mememic predispositions of the surrounding culture you are so intimately involved in. Typically most cultures' ebb and flows have the tendency of being male dominated. So what you are feeling can be derived totally from a cultural evolutionary standpoint, not a conscious one. So be who you are and keep fully living in these fragile moments we call time!! It's all good~

there are some girls that leave me feeling like I missed something feminine before I left the house.
Then, there are some guys that really get me excited, and some that do nothing for me. hahaaa

Yes , yes , yes . My mom makes me feel really dumb. My brother makes me feel like a little kid . I feel smart around my friends. Some people make me feel like I'm angry and other make me feel like I'm meek and mild.

Yes, there are people whom I'm very at peace when I'm around them, and there are people who make me feel very ill at ease.
