short answer: nope. I hope you mean in that a chemical like ethanol (C2O1H6) has an advertised molecular wieght and you can also add up all the wiegts of the atoms and get the molecualr weight that way? then they are the same... There is a little mass loss by the energy consumed during bond formation, but it is not very much

molecular weight is a formula weight

we say 'the molecular weight of water is....'
we can also say 'the formula weight of water is...'

but we can't say 'the molecular weight of NaCl is...' coz NaCl is not a molecule, it is an ionic compound
so we say, 'The formula weight of NaCl is...'
