Dont be afraid to talk to people... Be it in the malls, at school/varsity... you need to work on your self-confidence to be able to approach more people.
ALWAYS be yourself - there will always be someone who doesn't like you, so prepare to be disliked by someone.
Always smile, a positive person is always more appealing than a miserable one.
Always be polite and friendly... give it time... friendships dont blossom overnight, first become aquaintances, then take it from there...

1)Popularity - The best way to get friends to be popular, start by meeting new people and helping them in any small or big way you can.
2)Loyalty - Be loyal to you're pal and don't snitch on him to others, if you don't like someone keep it to yourself and work it out on you're own.
3)Friendly - Last but not least, try being good and not rough around people, make a congenial ambience when ever you meet some one.
