I ask because my gpa is not high from my college. In my 2 year college gpa was 2.3, but in my university it is a 3.6.

I also have a lot of F's from my college and it will take too much time to get rid of.

HOW AM I GOING TO GET IN LAW SCHOOL?

Hmmm, assuming you have equal number of units at JC and then at your 4 yr uni, you still average out to a 2.95. That's decent. Plus, your uni GPA is a lot higher, which shows improvement (seen as a plus by law schools).

Assuming you've got a 145 LSAT (150 preferably) score or higher, you've got a shot at an ABA approved law school.

However, you asked about MBA first. Yes, it will help. Particularly if you get good grades there. Getting an MBA is an accomplishment. It'll help you stand out more when applying to law schools. That's on top of the extra chance of showing an improved GPA.

I disagree a lot with your other answers. If you take the Lsat and do not get into a decent law school, then head to graduate school somewhere and get your MBA or MA. If you cannot get into a decent law program, then the program is going to be your Lsat or GPA, so you need to prove to them you can do graduate-style work. If I were you, I wouldn't go an MBA though. I'd try to get an MA in something semi-relevant to law, such as international relations or public affairs. Many of these programs, have legal disciplines that you can study, such as international law. It isn't the same as a JD, but graduating with an MA in IR while specializing in international law will certainly give you a boost. I know many people that graduated with a low GPA and couldn't get into PhD programs, so they got their MA first, then went on to great PhD programs. Always remember, the more education the better. Having an MBA or MA is never a bad thing. In any case, it will open more doors for you and help you understand law better, especially an MBA if you are going into corporate law or something. If you don't have the grades, there are only two things you can do, get a ton of experience or a masters in something similar. I dont know if you want to wait around for 10 years worth of experience before you apply.

i would not suggest going to B school as an effort to get into law school. it ikely will backfire and only serve to make you look confused and uncertain about what you really want.

i would focus on your LSAT and get great recos. and write killer essays. do your best on the application, put your energy there - rather than worrying about the past
